Trace eased the screen door closed, not meeting her gaze. Removing his hat, he hung it on a coat rack next to the door. "It can wait." He moved closer and slid his hands over her shoulders.

Reno sat on the top rail of the fence, fascinated. Chase wore an old checkered shirt, its sleeves long gone, the back wet with sweat. A cowboy hat, grungy from hard use, sat planted firmly on his head. His big arms glistened in the beaming sun as he held the rope and turned circles while the bronc reconciled itself to the idea of being domesticated. Reno grinned. If only Chase were that easy to tame.
