Six Sentence Sunday

Scene from Chase and Seduction – Reno and Chase are spread out on a blanket by the lake.
Reno laughed. “What’s so terrible about French food?” “Snails,” Chase replied, his eyes still closed.
“Have you ever tried them?”
“Yep. The first cook I hired wanted to expand my grocery list. Didn’t work. He lasted about two weeks, and I sent him packing.”
Reno trailed a stem of tall grass across his chest. “What did he do?”
Chase swatted at the grass. “The fool tried to stuff a ribeye steak with some kind of pigeon.”
“Squab?”
He propped himself up on one elbow, his brow furrowed. “Yeah, can you believe that? The guy was nuttier than a squirrel turd.”

Oh, yes! I must remember the “nuttier than a squirrel turd” line for just the right moment. LOL Great characterization of Chase. Reminds me, for some reason, of Brad Pitt’s character in Thelma and Louise. Great six!
